Prudential Bank Brings the Football Fever to Work, Launches Sports-Themed Step Challenge to Boost Employee Wellness and Team Spirit.

Prudential Bank LTD has launched the second edition of its Step Challenge, a health and fitness initiative running from July to September and designed to promote a culture of well-being across the Bank.

The 2026 edition encourages healthy lifestyles, teamwork, camaraderie and work-life balance. This year, the challenge takes a unique twist, with participants virtually journeying through all 48 participating World Cup nations, starting from New Zealand and culminating in Ghana.

Speaking at the launch, Head of Human Resources, Lilian Antwiwaa Asante, said the initiative goes beyond fitness and reflects the Bank’s commitment to creating a supportive and people-centred workplace.

“We believe that our people are our greatest asset, and their well-being remains a priority. The Step Challenge is not just about counting steps as a team or as individuals; it is about encouraging healthier lifestyles, strengthening relationships across teams and branches, as well as creating opportunities for colleagues to connect outside of their day-to-day responsibilities. We want our employees to thrive both professionally and personally,” she said.

Ms. Asante noted that the Step Challenge has become an important part of the Bank’s internal culture and demonstrates how employee engagement initiatives can positively impact organisational performance.

“Strong institutions are built on strong relationships. Initiatives such as these help break down silos, encourage collaboration and create shared experiences among colleagues across the Bank. “It is also a reminder that employee wellness and engagement are essential ingredients for a productive and resilient organisation, as well as an investment in a happier and more productive workforce,” she said.

She further noted that incorporating the World Cup theme into this year’s challenge creates an experience that is not only engaging and interactive but also celebrates teamwork, diversity and a collective sense of purpose.

The Step Challenge forms part of Prudential Bank’s broader efforts to foster a positive workplace culture where employees are encouraged to prioritise their health while building meaningful connections with colleagues.
